Small ideas deserve real software.
McBasic™ brings visual interface design and readable BASIC together in a development environment made for Mac.
A direct path from idea to application#
A personal utility, a records desk, an internal workflow or a small desktop tool should begin with the problem you want to solve. In McBasic™, you design a Form, name its controls, connect an event and write the behavior. The interface and the code remain close enough to understand together.
The same project can grow into multiple windows, local SQLite storage, asynchronous web requests, reports and reusable components. You can start small without pretending the rest of application development does not exist.

| Principle | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| Visible behavior | Control names, properties, events and source code should make the application understandable. |
| Useful foundations | Forms, language, data and the build tools belong in the same learning path. |
| Verifiable examples | A tutorial needs complete source, clear prerequisites and observable checkpoints. |
| Honest boundaries | A development build is not a store release. A compiler pass is not proof of every user interaction. |
Documentation that grows with the implementation#
This website is a separate English publication, written for reading and learning on the web. Guides explain decisions; tutorials walk through working projects; reference pages describe typed APIs. The implementation supplies API contracts and executable examples, not copied manual chapters.
Each documentation snapshot records its application build, Git revision and technical input hashes. Learning paths make feature coverage visible, and release notes explain changes and current limitations.
Publisher and availability#
McBasic™ is published by QBeat, Singapore.
The McBasic™ application is planned for the Mac App Store. The website’s ZIP downloads are tutorial source projects, not an alternative application installer.
