Guided workflow

Prepare a reproducible local release

Take a checked project through Release build and inspect the unsigned application without contacting Apple.

Step 1Freeze the source you intend to ship#

Use the completed first-app project. Save every file, inspect git status and commit only its intended source. Confirm application identity, version, build number and target in the project manifest.

Step 2Run the acceptance checks#

Check the project and repeat the first-app tests. Test a fresh launch, keyboard navigation and resizing. If using a package, resolve the pinned dependencies before continuing.

Step 3Build and publish a local artifact#

Developer CLI
mcbasic build HelloForms.mcproj --configuration Release
mcbasic publish HelloForms.mcproj --rid osx-arm64 --format app --publication-profile mac-compatible

Read the output path printed by the command. Use osx-x64 only for a project and dependency set that supports that target.

Step 4Test that exact artifact#

Open the generated application and repeat the workflow outside the IDE run path. Verify any images, reports, media and migrations in the final artifact. Do not substitute a previous build that happens to be on the machine.

Step 5Record what has and has not happened#

Record the source revision, target and artifact path. This exercise has not signed, notarized or submitted anything. Continue through the documented distribution gates only when you have selected the proper profile and intentionally authorized each external step.
